PADDLE BOARD COASTAL TOUR

Join us for a return 1.5 mile journey along the coast , enjoying Borth's stunning coastline from a different perspective. To give us a nice a nice relaxed pace the duration is between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Our tour starts in Borth hugging the headland to Camel rock and then a short hop to Aberwennol bay.

Enjoy a complimentary tea and coffee made at the beach at our halfway point.

We then make our way back to Borth, hopefully catching some of the wonderful wildlife along the way.

We often see Dolphins, Seals, Oyster Catchers, Terns, Cormorants, Shags, Manx Shearwaters and even the occasional Otter.

When we arrive at Aberwennol your guide will get the 'Kelly Kettle' ready. You can help collect drift wood to boil water for a complimentary tea or coffee.

Please feel free to bring your own cake and snacks if you wish. We recommend bringing your own drybag as the guides bag will be pretty full!

A WELL EARNED REST HALFWAY

We are a British Stand Up Paddle Association approved school offering the 'Ready to tour' and for junior paddlers 'Born to Tour' courses .

The aim of this tour is to introduce people to the enjoyment of touring and exploring, but offer more than an experience. Having completed this you should feel that you are ready to plan your own adventures and have new skills to improve your time on the water.

The course covers:

  • Understanding different locations to paddle and their restrictions, and challenges.

  • Knowledge of different touring disciplines and how to get involved.

  • Being able to select the best touring equipment.

  • Learning and demonstrating an improved efficient paddle stroke.

  • Using a variety of strokes to maintain tracking and maneuverability on the water.

  • Navigating obsticles and third parties afloat taking into account, flow, weather and any other elements.

  • Knowledge of how to plan a trip taking into account weather, flow, tide, access, 3rd parties, exit options.

  • Understanding of personal gear you might take with you when touring.

YOU EVEN GET CERTIFICATION!

Even though dry land can be accessed along the whole route this tour is not suitable for total beginners.

Paddlers wishing to join the tour must;

  • have paddle boarded a few times before

  • be confident paddling in slightly choppy conditions

  • be water confident swimming

  • be able to self rescue

  • have a reasonably good level of fitness. The tour is not fast paced, but a mile and a half of paddling is quite a long way on a paddle board.

  • be at at least 11 years old and able to paddle confidently unaided.

ALL EQUIPMENT INCLUDED

All equipment is included in all our lessons, (no extra hire charges!). Paddle board, paddle, buoyancy aid, warm UK winter wetsuit, wetsuit boots, and for the colder months, gloves and hood.

Our coastal tours are dictated by the weather and the tides. To get you out safely in the best possible conditions, we work around optimal weather windows — which might mean catching an early morning glass-off or heading out for an evening session.

Flexibility is key here! To book, simply drop us a message with the dates you’re available. We’ll match these up with the forecast and tide charts, suggest the best times, and hold your spots.

Tours are £50 per person (minimum 2 people per booking).

No risk booking: We don't take any payment until we’re confident the tour is definitely going ahead.
